Premier Foods expands plant-based range into new category with Plantastic
Premier Foods is expanding its plant-based offering into the cooking sauce category with new Plantastic Creamy Pasta Sauces. The brand is addressing the gap in the market for 100% plant-based products that deliver on taste.
Rolling out across the grocery channel, the Creamy Pasta Sauces from Plantastic are set to appeal to shoppers looking for products that can help them to make delicious plant-based meals quickly and easily at home. The move into cooking sauces is a first for Plantastic and will address the demand for consumers looking for tasty plant-based alternatives in the category.
Plant-based food is currently valued at £1.79bn[1] and is estimated to reach £2bn by 2024[2]. With 31% of people believing that plant-based food doesn’t taste as good as non-plant-based[3], Plantastic is on a mission to tackle this perception.
Hong Sim, Brand Director for plant-based food at Premier Foods, commented: “We have created this range of unique sauces which deliver creaminess, without the use of dairy, to ensure that plant-based consumers don’t have to compromise on taste. Our mission is to popularise plant-based by offering products that respond to the demand for great taste, convenience, and quality. We have done exactly that by introducing the brand into a new category in three flavours within the Grocery sector. This new range aims to attract new customers into the cooking sauces category whilst offering a solution to those looking for plant-based products that will deliver on taste.”
Plantastic Creamy Pasta Sauces provide one of your five a day (half a jar) and contain no artificial colours or preservatives. The sauces are available in three flavours: Tomato & Chargrilled Pepper, Spicy Cajun Tomato and Caramelised Onion & Sweet Potato.
