Community support overseas

Backing a charity project in our Indian sourcing region
June 11, 2025

As an increasingly global business, we are developing new markets and sourcing regions across the world. As we embark on this, we understand we have more opportunities to be a force for good in the communities where we operate. We are developing new understanding of those communities as well as creating new partnerships.

In India, which is an increasingly important sourcing and manufacturing region for our business, we have supported the charity Sangam World Centre in Pune, close to the site of our new The Spice Tailor service office.

The charity is owned and operated by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and has been operating in Pune since 1966. It empowers young women to develop the skills they need to learn, train and grow to become powerful changemakers in their families and communities.

Our donation has allowed the charity to develop commercial and employment opportunities for those coming from some of the city’s most vulnerable communities whilst improving the infrastructure for waste management services at the centre.

Conan Fryer, who is responsible for the technical management of our suppliers in India, says: “As we build our relationships in the Pune area, the need for support like this is very clear. We are so pleased we’ve been able to help through a great local charity.”
