Premier Foods wins big at the 2012 RoSPA Awards

Premier Foods, home to some of Britain’s best loved brands, has won the Food, Drink & Tobacco Manufacturing Industry Sector Award and the Managing Occupational Road Risk (MORR) Gold Award at the 2012 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Awards..

The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK and recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention by awarding businesses on their overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement. Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 sectors as part of the RoSPA Awards each year, and specialist awards recognise excellence in specific areas.

Michael Clarke, CEO of Premier Foods commented:

“This is a terrific achievement and something Premier Foods should feel proud about. Continually improving our health and  safety record is part of our culture and we lead the way, not just in the food industry but across the broader manufacturing sector. This supports our ongoing investment in this area and we hope to continue the effort ahead of next year’s awards.”

David Rawlins, awards manager at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA),  said:

“The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill health prevention. We congratulate Premier Foods Plc on its success and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line.”
