Wishing Her Majesty an ‘Exceedingly Good’ 90th Birthday

On Sunday 15 May, Mr Kipling joined forces with ITV to wish Her Majesty The Queen an ‘Exceedingly Good’ 90th Birthday.

During the ‘The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration’ programme hosted by Ant and Dec and broadcast live from London in the presence of Her Majesty, Mr Kipling starred in a unique feature-length commercial created by ITV to celebrate the special occasion.

The two-and-a-half minute street-party themed ad, filmed on location on the Coronation Street set, features ten other high profile brands including McCain, Interflora and Admiral Insurance, plus familiar faces including Paddy McGuinness and Fearne Cotton. Representing Mr Kipling will be our delicious French Fancies starring in an ‘exceedingly good’ trick...tune in on Sunday 15 May from 8.45pm and look out for Mr Kipling!

To build excitement ahead of the big reveal on Sunday, ITV and the brands took to social media the week before using the hashtag #QueensBirthdayAdBreak to create a playful narrative of planning the Queen’s 90th street party. Thankfully Mr Kipling stepped in and saved the day when ITV discovered all the cake had been eaten. What an ‘exceedingly kind’ gesture!

And we’ll be continuing celebrations throughout June with the launch of a special edition range of some of our most loved Mr Kipling cakes wrapped up in celebratory union jack packaging. They include specially renamed ‘Elizabeth’ Sponge Cake and ‘British’ Fancies in Asda stores nationwide.
