Premier Foods covers 25 miles for charity

We hit our target of funding £250,000 for our corporate charity Macmillan.

At Premier Foods, supporting charity and aiming higher is part of our DNA. Back in 2013 we set ourselves a stretching target of raising £250,000 for our corporate charity Macmillan. That’s enough to fund 10,000 Macmillan nursing hours to support those suffering from Cancer.

To help us achieve our target, this year we held ‘Big 25 events’ across our whole business, that saw colleagues sponsored to complete 25 miles together in lots of different ways, from running and cycling, hiking and rafting, and everything inbetween.

One of our biggest activities was when around 80 colleagues, including our CEO Gavin Darby and CFO Alastair Murray, completed the gruelling 25 mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in less than 12 hours, raising a staggering £22,000 for Macmillan in the process. This fantastic achievement was shared with Macmillan’s followers on twitter and facebook where our group photo received over 700 likes!
