Hovis Mossend supports their local team

Hovis have teamed up with Motherwell FC to make dreams come true.

Hovis recently teamed up with Motherwell FC to make 6 year old Corey Davies’ dream come true. Our Mossend site has been out and about in the local community promoting the benefits of healthy eating, and on one particular visit to a primary school in Lanarkshire, Planning Manager, Alan Oliphant was blown away when 6 year old Corey Davies made the connection that both Hovis and Motherwell FC were formed in 1886. Alan was so impressed by Corey’s knowledge, that he contacted Motherwell FC to let them know. Corey and his family were then invited for a tour of the Club, where he discussed tactics with the manager and had lunch with his favourite players. “Corey had a brilliant afternoon. It was great for him to meet his heroes” said Corey’s Dad, Colin. “Thank you to both Hovis and Motherwell FC for arranging such a big surprise for him.” The event has also helped to strengthen relationships in the local community. “It’s been directly through Corey’s referral that the Club has formed such a close bond with Hovis,” explained Motherwell’s Diane Harvey. In October an old fashioned Hovis van went on display on matchday, handing out free bread to fans. A bucket collection by Hovis volunteers also helped raise £1,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
