Aiming high for the environment

We’re proud to announce that all eight of our manufacturing sites are now accredited against the ISO 14001 international standard for environmental management.

Our Andover mill - home to McDougall’s Flour - is our most recent site to be accredited, thanks to the outstanding efforts of our HS&E (Health, Safety and Environment) team.

The ISO 14001 standard sets out criteria for businesses to adopt an environmental management system that aims minimize how their operations negatively affect the environment. Achieving the certification has required our Andover site to carry out between 250 and 400 environmental risk assessments, write and implement over 30 operational procedures, carry out legal compliance audits and train colleagues in internal auditing, waste documentation completion and energy saving. All our sites are audited every six months in order to maintain the accreditation.

It’s part of our commitment to be a responsible and sustainable business.
