With Valentine’s and Pancake Day done and dusted, what better excuse to celebrate Chinese New Year than by cooking up a tasty Chinese meal at home with a little help from Sharwood’s - one of the UK’s biggest brands for Asian cuisine.

Customers are using special recipe sections, meal inspirations and product features both in store and online to encourage consumers to ditch the take away and cook up their own delights at home this Friday.

Sainsbury’s and Morrisons are encouraging online shoppers to celebrate Chinese new year in style with a selection of Asian-inspired food and recipes which includes: Sharwood's Chinese Curry cooking sauce, Shanghai sweet soy pouches, Sweet & Sour and Black Bean & Red Pepper sauce along with noodles and prawn crackers.

Asda has its own online Chinese New Year section which features our Sharwood's Kung Po and Hoisin & Five Spice cooking sauce, along with noodle and rice selections so consumers can easily mix and match to bring all the ingredients together.

Raafia Afsar, Senior Brand Manager - Sharwood’s tells us more about the importance of being included in seasonal sections: “Chinese new year is a key sales period for the Oriental category and having a dedicated section in-store and online with the complete Sharwood's Chinese range captures the imagination of consumers and shows them how easy it is to create a delicious Chinese meals at home for the whole family".

“It also gives us the opportunity to drive penetration by attracting new customers who might not have seen some of the Sharwood’s Chinese sauces before and want to give them a try”
