In 1873 the first Chivers Jam was born, when young farmers William and John Chivers convinced their father to allow them to make their first batch of jam at their orchard site.

They soon diversified into marmalade, closely followed by the first clear dessert jelly in 1889. The brothers were hugely successful and later extended the brand into lemonade, mincemeat, custard powder and Christmas puddings.

Since then Chivers has grown to become one of Ireland's best known brands. Synonymous with jam and jelly, Chivers is still a major player in the preserves and jelly markets today, with shares of 21% and 50% respectively.

There are ten great flavours within the Chivers Jam range all of which are fat free and carefully made without any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives; a choice of five delicious tangy Marmalades; and a premium offering, Chivers Conserves. Recently re-launched, the Conserve range contains 40% more fruit than standard jams and boasts a soft, spreadable texture.

Also available in the Chivers range are the Chivers Tablet Jellies, Tinned Fruits (Strawberries, Raspberries and Prunes), Cranberry Sauce and Mincemeat.
