Be-Ro
Be-Ro has been rising to the challenge of producing consistently great results for over a century.
Well known for both self-raising and plain flour, it was originally sold from Thomas Bell's grocery business near the Tyne Quays under the brand 'Bells Royal'. But, following the death of Edward VII, it became illegal to use the royal name, so 'Be-Ro' was born!
The Be-Ro recipe book became an indispensable guide on how to bake. First produced in 1923 and handed out at exhibitions and door to door, it has sold over 38 million copies since its launch, making it arguably the best-selling cookery book of all time!
Be-Ro is still brand leader in the North East and Yorkshire.
