The Nation's Favourite Custard in a Cocktail

Custard and cocktail lovers rejoice!  Ambrosia and Mews of Mayfair have joined forces to serve up the next big thing in dessert cocktails – the custard cocktail.
 

Created to coincide with the start of Taste of London Winter this Friday, the exquisite ‘Queen Raffald’ cocktail is made using Ambrosia’s creamiest, most luxurious velvety custard - Ambrosia Deluxe Custard Vanilla with Clotted Cream, expertly blended with rum and gingerbread liqueur, and then finished with a sprinkling of nutmeg and dark chocolate shavings. This delectable, custardy cocktail is served in a coupe glass, completed with a miniature, gingerbread man garnish for additional dunking pleasure.

The Queen Raffald is exclusively available at The Taste of London Winter Festival, taking place 17-20 November 2016 at Tobacco Dock in London. It is also available to try on the dessert menu at Mews of Mayfair in London – but hurry it won’t be on the menu for long!

James Williamson from Mews of Mayfair said: “We love pushing the boundaries of cocktail creation whilst keeping things exciting and enticing for our customers. As a huge Ambrosia fan, I wanted to create a dessert cocktail and Taste of Winter seemed the perfect opportunity to do this.”

Gone are the days when custard is just served with apple pie or crumble - from our delicious Frozen Custard which we launched in the summer through to hot custard and chopped bananas, or even the growing trend for savoury custard dishes - we Brits just can’t get enough of the yellow stuff. We can’t wait to see what the next big idea might be!”

For custard lovers who fancy serving it at home this festive season, this is what you’ll need to create this custardy cocktail:

Cocktail Ingredients
•    50ml - Diplomatico Rum 12yr old
•    10ml - Gingerbread liqueur
•    75ml – Ambrosia Deluxe Custard Vanilla with Clotted Cream
•    Garnish: nutmeg and dark chocolate, mini gingerbread man 

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake…maybe even to the beat of your favourite Christmas song! Pour in to a coupe glass or something similar and garnish with shavings of chocolate and nutmeg. 
Voila! The perfect festive, custardy goodness, ‘Queen Raffald’ cocktail.
