Premier Foods wins top industry award for its innovation

Premier Foods, home to some of Britain’s best loved brands, has been awarded the winner of The Grocer New Product Awards Sweet Snack category and received the highly commended accolade in the Cooking Sauces category.

Premier Foods, home to some of Britain’s best loved brands, has been awarded the winner of The Grocer New Product Awards Sweet Snack category and received the highly commended accolade in the Cooking Sauces category. 

The awards that recognise outstanding FMCG innovation, announced that the nation’s favourite cake¹, Mr. Kipling Angel Slices won ‘Sweet Snacks’ with its innovative Snap Pack format and was highly commended in ‘Cooking Sauces’ for its Loyd Grossman For One, Tomato & Mascarpone Pasta Sauce.

The Grocer’s judging panel stated that Mr. Kipling Angel Slices Snap Packs won for its concept and product appeal as well as its sales potential. The judging process included consumer testing and product evaluation overseen by Cambridge Market Research. They commented that the product is a modern update with a novel snap pack design making the individual cakes an ideal lunch box cake, and that it exceeded expectations on appearance, taste and texture.

Loyd Grossman, the No.1 premium branded cooking sauce², was awarded highly commended its For One, Tomato and Mascarpone. According to the judges, it provides convenience and quality to consumers as well as tasting fresh and natural, giving the impression that it was a homemade sauce.

Premier Foods is set to launch its second phase of its successful TV advertising to support its new range of Mr. Kipling Christmas range of Snap Packs as well as dispensing posters where lucky passers-by could get their own free sample at the touch of a button.
