Premier Foods wins Green Supply Award

Premier Foods, home to some of Britain’s best loved brands, has won the Green Supply Chain Award at the fifth Supply Chain Distinction Awards.

Premier Foods, home to some of Britain’s best loved brands, has won the Green Supply Chain Award at the fifth Supply Chain Distinction Awards.

The Awards recognise outstanding achievements in the area of the supply chain and logistics, and saw Premier Foods recognised for exemplary environmental stewardship and its highly effective operational excellence sustainability improvement programmes by a prestigious panel of experts selected from the European supply chain industry; fending off tough competition from fellow shortlisted companies to claim the accolade.

In addition, Premier Foods’ entry in the Best Collaborative Practice category was commended for driving greater supply chain excellence through a more collaborative framework with its key suppliers.

The Green Supply Chain Award recognises those companies which have demonstrated unparalleled performance in environmental supply chain planning and execution through compliance with regulations, minimising waste from the supply chain process as well as the overall adoption of green practices across the supply chain.  Companies entering the category were required to demonstrate their success in cutting their carbon footprint and transforming their green agenda into a business opportunity to drive profitability and deliver value.

“The judges were impressed with both our approach to reducing our carbon footprint and how we have driven greater bottom-line value through more green supply chains,” explains Group Manufacturing Excellence Manager Graham Patterson. “This achievement serves as substantial recognition for how the passion and efforts of all our people at all of our sites is helping to drive successful energy and environmental improvements at pace.”
