Taking Stock of Success

Our new Bisto Stock Melts have shown how teamwork can overcome even the trickiest of product launches.

Our new Bisto Stock Melts have shown how teamwork can overcome even the trickiest of product launches. “The entire project team was brilliant; we really collaborated, gelled as a team and created an open forum where we could all have our say,” explained Jo Emery, group intellectual property manager on the development of Bisto Stock Melts, a range of individual concentrated stock pots that are set to cause a stir on supermarket shelves.

The huge team effort saw colleagues work tirelessly to come up with an innovative new product. “We had to be really careful not to infringe any of patents,” said Libby Newcombe, innovation controller, who was responsible for the marketing side of the project. “But we did the job thoroughly and the rigorous approach we took at the start really paid off.”

The team effort paid off, with Bisto Stock Melts scoring incredibly well in consumer research, with over 88% of consumers rating the product as good/very good and 90% saying it was comparable or better than the main brand on the market. Watch out for them in store this summer!
