We have gained national recognition this week for our Occupational Health programme with RoSPA!
Our Occupational Health team has been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) by being presented with the prestigious Astor Trophy this week. This Award is given out annually by RoSPA in recognition of an organisation’s achievements in the management of occupational health as part of the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2013, which took place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Tuesday, 14th May. Tom Mullarkey, chief executive of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), said: “The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service operated by Premier Foods has made great progress in the four years since it was established. There has been a focus on health surveillance and screening, the development of absence management and rehabilitation and the delivery of health promotion on key topics such as blood pressure, smoking cessation, heart health and flu. We extend our congratulations to all those involved in this innovative in-house service, which aims to provide more than a traditional occupational health service, focusing instead on employee wellbeing.” Also presented at the ceremony on Tuesday were RoSPA Gold and Silver Health and Safety awards to over 25 of our sites for their achievements in putting safety first, including the Managing Occupational Road Risk (MORR) Gold Award for Premier Foods overall.
