Last Thursday saw the inaugural Creative Out of Home Awards take place at the Emirates Stadium, London, where Mr. Kipling scooped a prize!
Last Thursday saw the inaugural Creative Out of Home Awards take place at the Emirates Stadium, London. The awards, which are a new event for 2012 celebrate the best creative outdoor advertising that the UK has to offer, are a prestigious event and key members from across the industry gathered to hear the all-important results which were decided by an esteemed panel of judges. Coming out victorious was Mr. Kipling who scooped the award for the best 6, 4 or smaller Sheet for their Cake to Go campaign, which not only involved 1500+ 6 sheet poster sites across the UK at city centre locations and at proximity to retailer stores, but the centre piece of the campaign saw an industry first, with 10 poster sites turned into cake dispensers; giving away up to 500 free cakes each day! Additionally the poster sites were scented with an evocative ‘cake’ scent which was ejected each time a cake slice was dispensed. The Mr. Kipling PR campaign with Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey) fronting it, led to many trade publications, consumer magazines and online blogs picking up the story, as well as thousands of consumers logging onto Twitter and Facebook to express their delight at getting a free cake. The campaign was such a hit it was even picked up by a Canadian news Station! Yet another great achievement for the Mr. Kipling team, so congratulations go out to all who worked on the Cake to Go campaign
