My Role at Premier Foods
I am accountable for overseeing all the systems that support the many ISC applications in use across Premier Foods. Having a 24/7 supply chain means that overnight activities are critical to us and we’re constantly working against the clock to deliver a smooth service, which means I get the chance to work with a wide number of teams.
A typical morning usually starts with a quick check of the overnight handover report on my mobile. The rest of my morning is often set aside to review projects and update or check on current service levels with our outsourcing partners. The infrastructure team I manage gets heavily involved in both our day to day operations as well as supporting new innovation initiatives, so there is always a lot going on for me to get involved in.
In the afternoon, my focus would then move to proactively managing our latest projects and strategies. We are currently rolling out SAP across the business which is a real focus for us. Another key project we are currently leading is the migration from our previous email solution to a more modern and collaborative solution using Google Apps. This is a high profile project that uses innovative and contemporary information channels that will change the way that our people communicate and work together.
