Job description

Premier Foods is a business in turnaround, making great progress.  We’re introducing innovative new products and changing how people cook and consume food.  Almost 95% of UK households have our products in their cupboards, and we have a burgeoning International business.  We’re going places and it’s a great time to join us.
We're delighted to offer the opportunity for a highly experienced and energetic Commercial Manager to join our Analytical Services function to lead sales and marketing activity, across a range of specialist laboratory services.
Primarily selling services to third party clients, the role will take charge of building our brand image and all related communications in order to grow our laboratory services client base, whilst account managing existing relationships.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to)
Food Safety and Quality Management:
  • Actively co-ordinate and engage to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Implementation of legal requirements, codes of practice etc.
  • Creation and maintenance of relationships with external agencies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and scientists, ensuring new services are delivered on time.
  • Work closely with Premier Analytical Services’ managers to identify new services, ensuring their integration into the Quality System.
Process Technology:
  • Advise on the application of new services and technologies to the business, focusing on competitive advantages.
  • Define and evaluate new services and products that lead to significant increases in business performance.
  • Deliver appropriate training needs
  • Deliver technical information in a way that meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Manage customer requirements for information and technical advice.
  • Manage customer quality issues to deliver effective solutions.
Data and Knowledge Management:
  • Use all media types to understand the technical aspects of services and report their significance to the business.
  • Manage and populate Premier Analytical Services website.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Sales and marketing experience in business to business services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working cross functionally at all levels.
  • Proven experience of building customer relationships, at both a buyer and senior level.
  • Excellent planning, organising and time management.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
  • Experience of Laboratory Services sales and marketing an advantage.
