Job description

We're delighted to offer the opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our fast paced production site in Ashford. The role will focus on implementing and co-ordinating Capital Projects in line with manufacturing and site infrastructure strategies whilst continuously seeking ways to reduce costs.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Providing detailed justification for proposed capital projects prior to submitting proposals
  • Preparing Tender and Purchase Specifications
  • Conducting risk assessments (ALARPs) in line with the Company and UK legislation
  • Writing engineering performance specifications
  • Selection and procurement of equipment in line with purchasing policy
  • Conducting vendor assessments and completing relevant paperwork
  • Budget control and spend forecasting
  • Delivery of approved projects on time and in full
  • Working closely with manufacturing to ensure the smooth installation and handover of machinery projects
  • Completing pre-delivery checks/inspections to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, PUWER assessments and CE marking
  • Assessing the performance of the equipment
  • Contractor management
  • Organising supplier/project meetings * Using SAP to raise orders, track orders and investigate invoices
Minimum Requirements
  • Post graduate experience in engineering discipline Mechanical / Electrical where some experience of Project Management has been demonstrated
  • Project planning and management skills
  • Conversant with CDM process
  • Familiar with lifting regulations, LOLER, ATEX, DSEAR, PUWER & CE marking
  • Computer literate
  • Able to read and understand drawings
  • Conversant with Construction, Design and Management (CDM) process
  • Able to work under pressure on own initiative
High level of IT literacy (fully conversant with MS Project)
